Merlin J. Fry, Jr.

Merlin J. Fry, Jr., 74, of Aurora, IL passed away on August 8, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 1, 1947 in Aurora, IL the son of Merlin Sr. and Reva (Ingraham) Fry. In 1998 he retired from Caterpillar after 32 years of dedicated service.

Merlin was an avid cyclist who enjoyed his long bike rides. He was meticulous with his cars, he loved music and enjoyed camping. He was active with the Interfaith Food Pantry in Aurora and he dedicated his life to helping others. He will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by his children; Thomas P. Fry, Anthony J. Fry and Terri A. (Merl) Stanley; grandchildren, Rachel, Alexander, and Joshua Stanley and Iris Collins-Fry; brothers, Rick (Lisa) Fry and Gary (Sue) Fry; sister-in-law Kim (Kevin) Thuente. He is also survived by his former wife Ruthann Fry and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife Joyce Lene Fry; son, Timothy Fry, 2 children in infancy, Scottie and Tammy and brothers Richard, Kenneth and Ronnie Fry.

Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Dieterle Memorial Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL 60538.
