Michael "Mike" Jeffrey Hamburg, 66, beloved husband to Glenna, of Somonauk, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021. He was born November 28, 1954, in Aurora, IL.
He grew up in Wheaton, IL and spent all of his life in the Chicagoland area, ultimately calling Somomauk his home. Mike was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downers Grove and he was also a member of the Auroraland Archers Club in Batavia. Mike loved to work on old motorcycles and go fishing whenever he got the chance.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna Davis Hamburg; sons, Michael (Amanda) Hamburg and Christopher Hamburg; dear brother to Tracey (Robert) Resuali and Thomas Hamburg; awesome uncle to Sean and Kyle Resuali, Michael Paul, and Kendrea Ennis; wonderful step-father to Lori and Justin Ruff; proud grandfather of 8, Everett and Gemma Hamburg, Madison, Dallas, Avery, Lainie, Tobiyas, and Alice Ruff. He is also survived by his aunts, Dorothy, Katie, and Cooky. He will be deeply missed by his many cousins, especially Anne and Maureen, nephews and friends, and his long-time friends Greg and Gerry as well as many family members of his previous marriage to Peggy. A special thanks to Aunt Katie and Sheila.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Mariae Hamburg (nee Mullaney); Aunt, Eileen Fraser; Uncles, Tom Mullaney, Wally and Jerry Hamburg; and Aunt Peggy Conkin whom passed away.
Family will be receiving guests on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 from 3:00 PM until time of service at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL, 60538. A service will take place following visitation on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 5:00 PM also at Dieterle Memorial Home.
