Michael Everett Hendley, 73, of Aurora, Passed away Saturday September 9, 2023 at his home. He was born September 30, 1949 in Barstow, California, son of Dewey and Aileen (Davidson) Hendley. Mike proudly served in The United States Navy during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of E3 Seaman, working as a heavy machine mechanic. After his time in the Navy, his used his skills as a heavy machine mechanic as a civilian at the Marine base in Barstow, California for over 25 years. Mike enjoyed gold mining, fishing, camping, working on his 2 El Caminos; Mike enjoyed antique cars and he loved to tinker with things to see how they worked and how still fix things, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Anita, 3 sister-in-laws; Debbie (Dan) LaVoie, Connie (the late John), Parker, Carmen (Russ) Peterson, a brother - in- law Francis and his loving cat Maui. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Melanie, and 4 brother-in-laws; Ralph (the late Joan) Lara, David (Josie) Lara, Gabriel Lara and Raymond (the late Kate) Lara. A graveside service with Naval military honors with be held Friday September 22, 2023 at 11am at Riverside Cemetery, 414 N. River Street in Montgomery.
