Nancy J. Vonhoff

Nancy J. Vonhoff, 85, of Geneva, IL and formerly of Aurora, IL, passed away September 27, 2022. She was born on December 29, 1936, the daughter of Blanche and August Cole. Years ago, Nancy played accordion in the Largent’s Band, where she met her husband, Robert, who was also part of the band. She enjoyed traveling with Bob and spending time with friends and family. They’ve visited every state in the USA and multiple countries. Mostly traveling by road trip, she was always the navigator. She was also a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Aurora, IL where she served as a leader of the missions committee and taught Sunday school.

Nancy is survived by her children, Eric (Cathy) Vonhoff of Yorkville, IL, Eliot Vonhoff of Machesney Park, IL, Ross (Billie Jo) Vonhoff of Portland, OR; Scott (Theresa) Vonhoff of Sugar Grove, IL; grandchildren, Ashley (Ian) Lavery, Madalyn, Parker, Grant, Ripley, and Angelica Vonhoff; brother, William Cole; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Robert Vonhoff; parents, Blanche and August Cole; and her brother and sister-in-law, William (Eunice) Vonhoff.

Any memorials under Nancy’s name will go towards funding mission work in the Philippines. Please make any checks payable to First Christian Church Morris.

Family will be receiving guests on Monday, October 3, 2022 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S Broadway Ave, Montgomery, IL 60538. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 10:30 AM also at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
