Ninfa C. Martinez, 75, of Aurora, IL passed away on January 11, 2021. She was born on November 10, 1945 in Weslaco, TX the daughter of Amado and Eloisa (Lopez) Cortes. Ninfa was extremely faithful and deeply devout. She was a longtime member of Charisma Christian Ministries. Ninfa was a mentor and lead many to Christ. She was put together, sharp, witty, loving, kind and compassionate. You knew exactly where you stood with her as she always spoke her mind. She was a gifted writer and loved reading. Her longtime friend Susie taught her to make the best tamales. Above all things, she was a wonderful wife, a devoted mother, grandmother and dear friend to everyone. She will be deeply missed but her legacy will continue.
She is survived by her children; Leonel Reyna; Norma Reyna; Hector Reyna; Roberto Reyna; Alfredo Reyna; Elizabeth (Charles) Robinson; Rosario (Dustin) Keenan; Miquel Martinez and Amado (Sylvia) Martinez, 47 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Her sister Eloisa (Jose) Salazar, many nieces, nephews and dear friends Susie Flores and Reverend Petra Brown survive her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Manuel A. Martinez as well as 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be private and burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery. Due to current restrictions, social distancing and face masks are required. A limited number of guests will be allowed in the chapel.
