Pedro Favela Chaidez passed in peace on Saturday, November 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 29, 1940 in Arroyo Chico, Durango, Mexico. He was born to Everardo Chaidez and Maria del Refugio Favela. As a young man, he emigrated to the United States where he worked and lived in various states including Nevada, Wyoming and California before settling in Illinois. Here he met his wife, Elba, in 1970 and they made their home in the Marywood area of Aurora, IL. Pedro worked at Johnson Controls in Geneva, IL for over 25 years. He was a humble man who was always supportive of his family. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Grandpa always took the kids to McDonalds for playtime and ice cream. He enjoyed gardening and even while struggling with his ailments, he still managed to plant a beautiful garden this year. He enjoyed his daily visits with friends at the morning coffee club, collecting coins, playing cards, traveling with his wife, watching baseball, watching anything that involved wildlife and watching his beloved Chaplulín Colorado. He loved music and would often hire the Banda to celebrate any occasion. Pedro and his wife loved dancing. It brings his family great comfort to imagine them cutting up a rug in Heaven. Survivors include his three daughters whom he adored, Valeska Chaidez, Elizabeth (Ryan) Kline, Elba (Ronnie) Urbealis; his grandchildren, Arianna and Alexandra Renteria, Maximo and Vivian Kline, and Jada and Jocelyn Urbealis; his sisters, Elena (the late Isaias) Cavada, and Rosa (the late Pedro) Herrera; and his sisters in law, Ofelia Chaidez and Leticia Orive. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 40 years, Elba; his parents; his brothers, Antonio (Alcaria) Chaidez, Cleofas (Isabel) Chaidez, Felicito Chaidez and Everardo Chaidez. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm, with a liturgical wake service at 7:30 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home in Montgomery, IL. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 10:00 am at St Joseph Church in Aurora, IL. Interment will be in Marywood Cemetery.
