Phyllis E. Nelson, 83, of Aurora, Il passed away on June 24, 2022. She was born on August 23, 1938 in Aurora, IL the daughter of Elmer and Evelyn (Keslinger) Hage. In 1956 she married Clarence Nelson, they had 6 boys. For many years she was a dedicated employee at Western Electric. She had a passion for quilting, sewing, gardening and crafting. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. The untimely passing of her husband in 1978 left her to raise her 6 boys on her own. She became self-taught, strong and independent. She loved her family fiercely and will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her sons; Clarence “Art” (Linda) Nelson, Randy (Cheryl) Nelson, Terry (Debbie) Nelson, Scott (Angie) Nelson, Dennis Nelson, daughter-in-law, Dara Nelson; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and sisters, Sharon (the late Frank) Brummel and Peggy (Dan) Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Nelson; son, David Nelson; sister, Charlene Ratterree and brother, Norman Hage.
Family will be receiving guests on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Inurnment will follow at Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her honor to the charity of your choice.
