Richard Thill, 76, of North Aurora, IL passed away comfortably at home on Friday, February 26, 2021. He was surrounded by his immediate family, wife, Emily (Buga); his son, Adam Thill and his daughter, Jennifer Thill Mrkvicka. Richard retired from Catapillar Inc. after 31 years of service and was a proud member of UAW local 145. He was active in Scouting and was the former Scoutmaster for North Aurora Troop 1. He was a C.C.D. teacher at Blessed Sacrament for several years as well. In his spare time, he enjoyed stamp collecting and held several positions within the Scouts on Stamps Society. He also loved lighthouses and travelled to see a few first hand. His interests varied from volcanoes, birds of prey, and wolves, to woodworking, snowmen, and jigsaw puzzels.
He is also survived by his sister, Magaret (Jack) Schomer of Aurora, IL; brother, Donald (Christine) Thill of Gold Canyon, AZ and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Florence Thill; his sister, Marlene Stewart and his brother, Michael Thill.
Family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Due to current restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed in the chapel at a time. Facemasks and social distancing are required.
