Rita Kiefer

Rita Kiefer, 89, of Aurora, passed away November 13, 2017, at Season’s Hospice in Naperville surrounded by her loving family.  She was born February 2, 1928, in Aurora, IL,  daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Bohr) Frieders. She owned and managed several rental properties.  She enjoyed bowling, gardening and  assembling rosaries for the missions. She is survived by a daughter, Sandra (Gerald) Pannell; 3 sons, Charles “Chuck” Patterson (William Trigg), Frank (Nancy) Patterson and Carl (Cheryl) Patterson; 2 brothers, Ernest (Mary) Frieders and Albert (Norma) Frieders. 1 sister, Loretta Spalding; 6 grandchildren, Cheryl (Eric) Westrom, Jerry (Tonilyn) Pannell, Brian (Debra) Pannell, Katherine (Carson) Denny, Karen (Joseph) Hames and William Patterson; 17 Great Grand children, and 7 Great Great Grand children and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Rita is preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, Eugene “Pat” Patterson and John Kiefer. 4 sisters Jeannette (the late Carl Christoffel and the late Paul Patterman), Elizabeth (the late Henry) Bauman , Pauline (the Late Ralph) Wackerlin and Marian (the late Raymond) Bertrang; a brother, Joseph (the late Patricia) Frieders, a brother in law, Joseph Spalding and a sister in law, Dolores Frieders.  Family will be receiving guests Thursday, November 16, 2017, from 3:00 pm -7:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery, IL.  Funeral Mass Friday, November 17, 2017 at 10:00 am, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 620 5th Street, Aurora, IL.  Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery, IL.
