Rosario Soto

Rosario Soto, 67, of Aurora, Il passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

Rosario is preceded in death by her parents; Fortunato and Prajedes C. Uvalles, her son; Arturo Ortiz, two sisters; Manuela and Maria, and three brothers; Guadalupe, Jose and Ernesto.

Beloved wife of Antonio Soto. Loving mother of Marisela (Ernesto), Selia (Rodolfo), Guadalupe (Jose), Jose Luis (Traci), Rodolfo (Yvonne), Steve, Jovan (Kelly), Sotero (Amber) and Roxanna (Robert). Adoring grandmother of Jose, Jesse, Yessenia, Vicky, Josie, Nina, Jonathon, Diego, Emilio, Julian, Lorenzo, Alicia, Emma, A.J., Steve Jr., Corrina, Armando, Elliot, Dominyk, Janessa Rose, Papo and Ryan. Dear great grandmother of twelve great grandchildren. Rosario is also survived by four sisters; Dora, Isidra, Gloria and Juanita and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rosario was born in Uvalde, Texas and spent most of her adult life in Aurora, Illinois where she raised her nine children whom she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family at parties and gatherings where she was often the life of the party. Her most treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren included making flour tortillas and using the kids’ hands to measure out the size of the tortilla. This is a memory that will always be cherished by her children and grandchildren. Along with making the tortillas, Rosario loved to eat them with chorizo and beans and also enjoyed eating salted watermelon. Rosario loved life and was always quick to remember and include everyone. Always on the go, she still made sure to at least make a quick stop to see family, as the extremely family oriented person that she was. When not spending time with her family you would, most likely, find Rosario at the casino as it seemed to be her second home.

Rosario will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 South Broadway, Montgomery, IL 60538. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Therese of Jesus Catholic Church, 271 North Farnsworth Avenue, Aurora, IL 60656, on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 10:00am. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Aurora, IL, to follow.
