Ruth A Haag

Ruth A. Haag, 100, a lifelong resident of DuPage and Kane counties, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2017. She was born on January 6, 1917 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Marie (nee Binder) and Henry Reck. She was married to Elmer Haag from September 14, 1940 until he passed away in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gary, and her sister, Jane Tesch.
Ruth and Elmer were avid gardeners, producing fruits, vegetables and flowers for themselves, their friends and the local critters who came into their garden. They also had a seasonal business selling pumpkins and asparagus. Ruth was a marvelous cook who generously shared her creations with friends, family, her bowling team and others. The many people who got her Christmas baskets had a delicious variety of cookies all through the holiday season.
For many years Ruth worked for Wrigley's chewing gum factory. She worked outside the home at a time when most mothers worked inside the home. She enjoyed her job and the people she worked with very much.
