Samuel Martinez

Samuel M. Martinez, 72 of Aurora, passed away at his home Sunday August 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born February 9, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, son of Juan and Esmerjilda (Mendoza) Martinez. Sam was employed as a warehouse coordinator for over 25 years at Allsteel, and then retiring from VWR in the same position.  He enjoyed watching baseball; going to Dunkin’ Donuts for a great cup of coffee and a donut but most of all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Sam is survived by his 2 daughters; Erica Martinez and Monica Martinez. 4 grandchildren; Dominique, Alicia, Karina and Jordan. 3 great grandchildren; Liam, Mason, Ella. 2 sisters; Janie (Louie) Trevino, Maria Elena Martinez, 4 brothers; Richard (Janie), Juan, Vincent, Leo and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 45 years Gloria who passed away in 2016, a daughter, Gloria Elaine, a sister Amelia Gonzalez and 2 brothers; Albert and Daniel. Family will be receiving guests Thursday September 1, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm at Dieterle Memorial home 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery. Funeral Mass will be Friday September 2, 2022, 11 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 620 Fifth Street, Aurora.  Burial will take Place at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Aurora.
