Sofia Vargas

Sofia Vargas, 63, of Aurora, passed away Monday May 22, 2023 at Rush University Hospital surrounded by her loving family.  She was born March 26th, 1960; Eldest of 11 children to Raul & Maria Alvarez. She was a graduate of East Aurora High School, Class of 1978. She married Marco Antonio Vargas on April 23, 1983 at St.Therese Catholic Church in Aurora. They had recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. For over 24 years, she was a devoted employee at Diamond Tag. Sofia’s pride and joy was her family, celebrating everything with them meant the world to her. She was a selfless woman, always putting others before herself. Incredibly strong and resilient, with a truly beautiful and pure soul. Sofia was the most amazing and loving Wife, Mother, Daughter and Sister; She will be missed dearly. She is survived by her husband Marco Sr.(Toño) Three Daughters; Angelica, Sandra & Susana. Two Sons: Marco Jr & Ricardo. Her Mother Maria, Four Sisters; Rebecca (Eloy), Guadalupe (Benjamin), Silvia & Gloria (Armando). Six brothers; Raul (Lucia), George (Indra), Carlos (Imogene), Ramiro (Ramona), Isidoro & Ramon (Angie). Along with numerous nieces and nephews. 
She is preceded in death by her father Raul. 
Family will be receiving guest on Thursday; June 1, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2nd at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Montgomery, IL.
