Thomas Lagger

Thomas M. Lagger, age 75, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at home.Born February 24, 1943 in Joliet, Tom received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from Northern Illinois University.  He was a teacher for twelve years at East Aurora High School where he eventually served as the chairman of the business department and senior class advisor. For the past 42 years, Tom was a celebrated insurance agent loved by his thousands of clients. He consistently achieved the highest recognitions for being the sales leader in the companies that he represented.  The multiple awards he has earned include the prestigious Centurion, Man of the Year, and Pinnacle honors.

An extremely generous and warm-hearted individual, Tom had the extraordinary ability to remember the names, faces and stories of his many acquaintances and clients. He was a fitness enthusiast and an avid supporter of arts and music, especially projects involving his beloved wife, children and grandchildren. Tom and his wife Pat recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary surrounded by family and friends.

Surviving are his beloved wife Patricia (nee Poskozim) Lagger; sons Michael (Kristy) Lagger, Thomas (Pam) Lagger and daughter Alicia (Zvi) Marial. He was the beloved grandfather of Owen, Erin, Reese, Lia, Ryan, Danielle and Charlotte. He will also be lovingly remembered by numerous cousins and extended family. Tom is survived by two brothers, Louis Lagger and John Lagger; and two sisters, Mary Deborah (Les) Cox and Vicki (Paul) Martell.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin J. Lagger, Sr. and Helene (nee Kramer), and his brother, Edwin (Jeanne) Lagger, Jr.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 4 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, December 5 at 10:00am at Holy Angels Church, 180 S. Russell Ave. in Aurora. Reception immediately following. Interment will be private.
