Tribute

Tia M. Dumdie, 59, of Aurora passed away peacefully at home after a year- long battle with cancer. She was born September 21, 1962, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of David and Dawn (Tope) Tuttle. She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Dumdie on May 5, 1984. Together they had two children. Tia was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend that was always willing to help those in need with love and joy. She was the best “Nana” to her grandson that a child could ever ask for. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She loved dressing for the holidays or any other “theme” day. Always one to wear a silly hat or outfit just to brighten the room and bring joy and laughter. In 2000, the IL State 500 Bowling Club was formed in which Tia was one of the founding members and served for 20 years as the Sergeant-At-Arms. At the national level, she gave much of her time and served as a Director on the Board for many years. In 2008 she was placed in the Aurora USBC WBA’s Hall of Fame in the Meritorious Service category. She traveled regularly to participate in tournaments throughout Illinois and Nevada.Tia was employed for the past 20 plus years with Aurora East School District 131 as the lunch coordinator, affectionately known as “the Lunch Lady”, for Gates Elementary School in Aurora, IL. She loved the kids and made many lifelong friends during this time.
