Veronica "Vicky" Damato

Veronica “Vicky” Damato, 54, of Yorkville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 13, 2021. She was born on March 12, 1967 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Reinaldo and Carmen (Baez) Diaz. Veronica earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Education from Aurora University. She taught elementary level at Beaupre Elementary in Aurora for many years. She was a missionary who had a servant’s heart and devoted her life to ministering to others. Even throughout her illness, she was finding ways to touch the lives of those in need. She was a loving wife, mother and daughter but above all, she served the Lord and was a spiritual light to so many.

She is survived by her husband of 7 years, Rick Damato; mother, Carmen Diaz; children, AJ, DJ and Nicola Betz; step-children, Alyssa and Nick Damato; brother, Isaac (Kathleen) Diaz; nephew Josiah Diaz and niece Abby Diaz. Her mother-in-law Dana Damato and countless friends survive her. She is preceded in death by her father, Reinaldo Diaz.

Family will be receiving guests on Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral service will be on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Calvary Church in Naperville, IL. Interment will follow.

Due to current restrictions, a limited number of guests will be allowed in the chapel. We ask that you please pay your respects in a timely manner and face coverings and social distancing are required.
