Wallace Oscar Carlson, 91, of Aurora, Illinois passed away on June 23, 2017. He was born on August 6, 1925 to Johan Oscar and Selma Katherine (Dahlin) Carlson in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Wally proudly served his country as a combat infantryman in Europe during World War II, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in electrical engineering and worked for Electric Machinery Company in Minneapolis, then for S&C Electric Company in Chicago, retiring from the latter after 27 years. He was an avid photographer, enjoyed model trains, and especially treasured the time he spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Phyllis, and his daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Joe Golab. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to a favorite charity.
