William Gaston

William T. Gaston, 89 of Aurora, passed away at his home Saturday June 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 17, 1928, son of John and Phoebe (Meador) Gaston.  Bill served in the Korean War from 1950 to 1952.  He was employed by Barber-Greene as a Machine Maintenance Technician for many years.  He enjoyed gardening, but his passion was woodworking; from building a pencil holder to a desk, and even the home that he lived in, he was quite the craftsman. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Roberta, and 2 brothers, Lowell (the late Lorraine), and Dovel (the late Mary). He is survived by 1 son, John, 4 daughters, Margaret (John) Brady, Marilyn (Harlan) Spiroff, Judy Gaston, and Ann (Gaylen) Simpson. 9 grandchildren, William (Libby) Gaston, Jeremy (Robin) Gaston, Joshua (Michelle) Gaston, Andrew Gaston, Brandon Gaston, Sean Brady, Emily Simpson, Clair (Travis) Johnson,  and Tyler Simpson. 1 sister,  Lucille (Benny) Loyd. 15 great grandchildren,  2 great great grandchildren.  Family will be receiving  guests  Wednesday  June 28, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S.
