William L. Stevens

William L. ”Bill” Stevens, 76, of Aurora passed away on February 11, 2017. He was born on May 29, 1940 in Aurora, IL the son of Edward and Myrtle Stevens. Bill proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp. In 2000 he retired from the Aurora Post Office after over 40 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Aurora Turner Club, Phoenix Club, AmVets and 3rd Ward Club. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (nee Guzman); children, Sheri (Kevin) McDonough, William Stevens, Jr., Michael Stevens, Daniel (Amie McIntosh) Stevens, and Kathleen (Tony) Veliz; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Tago. He is also survived by many in-laws and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, baby Jimmy; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Family will be receiving guests on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 722 High Street Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Aurora, IL.
