William "Bill" Westwood

William Kent Westwood, 83, of Aurora, IL passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 at Amita Health Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL.  He was born June 6, 1938 in Constantine, MI, the son of David Rex and Gwendolyn Eleanor (Fox) Westwood.   

    Bill started working at the Fox Valley Park District when he was 16 years old, and was the Heavy Equipment Operator for 38 years, retiring in 1993. He was proud to have been a big part of building most of the older parks within the Fox Valley Park District.   

    For many years, Bill enjoyed boating on the Illinois River.  He also looked forward every day to feeding the outdoor critters, but his favorite pastime was spending time with family.

    Bill is survived by his wife Carol, who he was married to for 63 years; 3 daughters, Victoria Kay Coveny, Pamela (Joe) Hernandez and Sheryl Westwood; 6 grandchildren, Aaron (Lindsay) Hernandez, Jerry Hernandez, Amy (Andy) Platt, Adam (Maddie) Hernandez, Daniel (Monika) Hernandez and Erik Westwood; 9 great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 3 nephews; and sister in law, Marilyn DeCelles.

    He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers, David, Jerry, James and Todd in infancy.
