Maria Medina

Maria Medina, 86, of Aurora, passed away, December 8, 2017 at The Vistas of Fox Valley in Aurora, IL, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born June 20, 1931, in Zacatecas, Mexico, daughter of Daniel and Refugio (Ruiz) Garcia.  She married the late Jesus Medina on September 6, 1948, in Matamoros, Mexico. She was a housewife and loving mother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, but most of all she enjoyed cooking for her very large family.  Maria is survived by 5 daughters, Blanca Medina, Alicia (Eric) Perris, Ofelia (Luis) Velazquez - Leon, Nina (Jerry) Wilson, and Sylvia (Donald) Ortiz. 5 sons, Arthur (Rachel), Mario (Norma), Mark(Terri), Sergio and Daniel. 40 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, great greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Jesus, a brother Ramiro and a son Jesse Jr.  Family will be receiving guests Tuesday December 12, 2017 from 3:00 pm to 7:00pm at Dieterle Memorial Home.  At the family’s request, funeral services will be private. Internment, Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Aurora. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Salvation Army, 437 E.
