Nathan H. Greenberg, 75, of Plainfield, formerly of Mt. Prospect, passed away on February 5, 2018. He was born on June 5, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Irving and Ruth (Moscowitz) Greenberg. On March 21, 1964 he was united in marriage to Barbara Urbauer and they spent the next 49 years together before her passing in 2014. Nathan proudly served his country with the U.S. Army from 1962-1965. He also had a love for sports and enjoyed being a mentor to his grandson. He was an extremely dedicated and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Nathan spent his entire life doing for others and was the most selfless man you would ever meet. His family was his greatest accomplishment and he made sure that they knew that. He will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in each of the lives he touched.
He is survived by his daughters; Amanda (Shawn) Bluesummer and Rebecca (Marc) Grigsby; grandchildren, Brian and Emma Grigsby; and brothers, Ronald (Sheryl) Greenberg and Sanford (Ellen) Greenberg. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Barbara.
Family will be receiving guests on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill South Cemetery, Oak Lawn.
