Rita M Nemeth

Rita M. Nemeth, 89, of Montgomery passed away on June 25, 2017. She was born on October 16, 1927 in Pfarrkirchen, Germany, the daughter of Emeran and Babette (Satzinger) Salbaum. Rita was a founding member of the German D.A.N.K. Club. She was extremely active and instrumental in building the club, through the years she held a number of leadership positions. Her heritage was something she was very proud of and she was determined to stay true to her roots. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Rita was a friend to so many and had a true gift in building lasting relationships. She adored her family and her greatest joy was being “Oma” to her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons; Ralph (Kathleen) and Robert (Christine Koontz); grandchildren, Megan (Patrick) Sullivan, Kendall (Stephan) Metelica, Jason (Jessica Rumsey) Nemeth, and Jessica and Stephanie Nemeth. She is also survived by a great-grandson expected in September. She is preceded in death by her husband Josef.

Family will be receiving guests on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Interment will be private.
