Robert Koppenhoefer

Robert Michael Koppenhoefer, 81, of Aurora, passed away Friday March 17, 2017.  He was born March 18, 1935 in Chicago, son of William and Marie (Sullivan) Koppenhoefer.  After High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  After his time in Korea, Bob enrolled at University of Nebraska were he graduated with  a Masters degree in business. After graduating college, he went on to serve  in the Vietnam War.  Bob was in the Army for a total of 24 years; receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star, and obtaining the rank of Major.  He enjoyed camping, being a Boy Scout leader, reading and being involved with POW-MIA programs.  Bob is survived by 2 daughters, Gloria and Denise(Neal) Moore, 5 sons, William, Robert (Nicole), Larry, Sean and Michael. 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan, 2 brothers, Larry and Ken (Marlene) and 1 sister Arlene.  Family will be receiving guests Saturday March 25, 2017 from 12:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway Montgomery ,IL 60538.  Interment will take place Monday March 27, 2017 AT Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
