Charlie G. Blackburn

Charlie G. Blackburn, age 91, of Montgomery, IL, passed away on April 7, 2017 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville just days after his beloved wife Lily and 73 years to the day that his mother passed. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII and was on the U.S.S. L.C.I. Ship L 513, U.S. A.M.C. U10.   Charlie is survived by his children Judy (Timothy) Dixon and Charles (Denise) Blackburn; grandchildren, Chaz M. (Kendra Richmond) Blackburn; Carl (Susan) Fields; great grandchildren,  Emily and Addyson; siblings, R.C. (Esterene), Freddie  (Sharon), J.C., Marshall (Janice), Kyle (Pat), Virle Hardin, Mary Spencer, Shirley Marrow, Leatha Beatty.
 Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Lily and grandson, Charles L. Blackburn “Bubs”; his parents, Charnel Cotesworth Blackburn and Clistie Blackburn; brothers Howard and Vernon; sisters Elatrice Pounders and Anita Vargas.

Graveside service will be on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Lincoln Memorial Park, 675 Rt. 30, Aurora, IL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to the charity of your choice.
